                                      72 726

72 Dirham 169 H., al-Hârûnîya, with the names of the caliph and the governor of Armenia Yazîd ibn Mazyad ash-Shaybânî.
                Bonner 7; Lowick/Savage 874 (with incomplete description); Ties. 1090; Vardanyan -. 2,9 g. Extremely rare Very fine 300,--

Acqu. Steve Lloyd, February 2006. A remarkable feature of this rare dirham from al-Hârûnîya, which was identified by Michael Bates as the
mining mint of Ma‘din Bâjunays, is the lack of the name of al-Hâdî‘s ambitious brother Hârûn, whose name the mint was bearing at this time.
From the rarity of the type a very short period of issue at the end of the year 169 H. can be concluded, because it was briefly continued in 170
                H. and these dirhams are similarly rare.

726 Dirham 170 H., al-Hârûnîya, with the names of the caliph and his brother Hârûn, his vizier Ibrâhîm and the local official
